'Bridgerton' and 'Queen Charlotte' fan favourite Brimsley's first name is now officially known.

In a brand-new book released to coincide with Netflix's "Queen Charlotte" spinoff series, "Bridgerton" author Julia Quinn has revealed the first name of the beloved character Brimsley, who is a favourite of readers.

We can also reveal that Bartholomew is the first name of the right-hand man to Queen Charlotte.

Many of the characters in "Bridgerton" are taken directly from Quinn's book series, but a few, like Brimsley, were made specifically for the Netflix series. Quinn had the opportunity to flesh out these characters' backstories for the first time while working with Shonda Rhimes on the new "Queen Charlotte" book.

The new book is based on Shonda Rhimes's script for the "Queen Charlotte" series on Netflix.
"I had the opportunity to rename Brimsley. Quinn told Insider, "That was extremely enjoyable. "I continued sending emails asking, 'Does Brimsley have a first name?' to everyone. Anyone aware of if we ever gave him a first name? After some time, when someone said, "No, I don't think he does," I responded, "Yes.

It is a bonus fact that is exclusive to readers of Quinn and Rhimes' novel because Brimsley's first name is never mentioned in "Bridgerton" or the "Queen Charlotte" series.

When asked how she chose Bartholomew for Brimsley's first name, Quinn stated it just "seemed right."
Quinn stated, "I felt like I had to mention his whole name when I introduced him at the very beginning of his chapter.

And nobody ever used it other than once. The first time Reynolds called someone by their first name, Bartholomew, I believe there was a moment of intimacy.

Another new character featured in "Queen Charlotte" is Reynolds, who serves as King George III's chief secretary. Quinn claimed that neither the book nor the television show give him a first name.

Quinn told Insider that a crucial moment addressing Reynolds' relationship with King George was deleted from the show, despite the fact that Reynolds' past is not covered in the Netflix series.
Reynolds tells Brimsley in the scenario, which is really included in the book, that he was initially paired up with George as a playmate when they were both little and so had a deeper relationship with the monarch than we might realise.

Quinn stated, "I slightly embellished it, but it actually comes from the writing. "And after I finished watching the show, I remember wondering, 'Where was that conversation?'" I am studying the script. I think, 'I know that was here.'"

You may purchase "Queen Charlotte," a novel authored by Julia Quinn and Shonda Rhimes, from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other bookshops. You may watch "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" on Netflix.
